Bruce B. Itterman
December 28, 1956 - February 24, 2012
Bruce B. Itterman, age 55 of Sioux Falls, passed away unexpectedly in his home Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.
Bruce was born December 28, 1956 at Northfield, MN, the second son of Rev. Bert and Evelyn (Lang) Itterman.
He was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of 12. His early education was completed in MN, MI, and SD. He graduated from George High School in George, IA and Northwestern College in Roseville, MN. He played collegiate baseball and fast-pitch softball in the Sioux Falls area. Bruce always played to win. He was active in many sports, enjoyed hunting with his dog Tucker and training horses. His friendship was genuine, enhanced by his humor, original poetry and congeniality.
He was a realtor for many years, employed at The Real Estate Co. He also served as moderator of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the SD Association of North American churches.
He married Mary Davis Jan. 13, 1996.
Bruce is survived by his daughter, Linnae, Sioux Falls, parents Rev. Bert & Evelyn Itterman, Harrisburg; his brother Bryon (Myrna) Itterman, Aberdeen, SD; sisters Yvonne (Tim) Wilde, Sioux Falls, Diane (Rob) Pippenger, Shanghai, China. Nephews, Brett (Katie) Itterman, Blake (Stephanie) Itterman, Matt Itterman, Daniel Wilde, Christopher Wilde, and Timothy Wilde and great niece Emilie Wilde. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
He began his spiritual journey as a young boy and was baptized after his conversion experience. He had a keen interest in Biblical truths demonstrated by his involvement in Bible study group which was the highlight of his week.
The funeral will be Tuesday Feb. 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Sioux Falls with Rev. Randy Tweeten officiating. Visitation will be held Monday at Heritage Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
