Andrew was killed in action at Vella La Vella in the South Pacific. He was the youngest son of Russian immigrants Andreas and Marian Leboldus who had settled in Selz, ND. Andreas died in 1919 in Selz. Marian married Constantine Fuhrmann and moved to Onaka, SD in 1923. Andrew entered service from Onaka and is the reason he was listed from South Dakota.
