Gladys West Dies Friday, July 1, Funeral Sunday
Gladys West passed away her at the home of her mother, Mrs. W.H. West on Friday, July 1st, following an illness extending over a number of years. For the past eight years or so she has been practically an invalid, and death came as a relief to a patient sufferer.
Gladys Mae West was born at Emery, SD, coming to this vicinity with her parents early in life. With the exception of a few years when the family resided at Garretson she had spend most of her life in Dell Rapids. She was a member of the Methodist church in Dell Rapids and was active in the work as long as her health would permit.
She is survived by her mother, two brothers, Earl of Sioux City, Iowa and Donald of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Doris, Mrs. Bunkers of Los Angeles, Calif., and Maxine, Mrs. H.B. Everts of Dell rapids, beside other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, some time years ago.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. H.H. Arms. Burial was in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
