CHESTER, S. D. – Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hallenbeck Funeral Home in Madison for Mrs. Ellnora Nichols, 79, who died in a Madison hospital Tuesday.
Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Egan.
Ellnora Gruber was born Feb. 8, 1889, in Keokuk County, Iowa. The family moved to Clark County in 1903. She was married to John Nichols in Clark. They lived in Moody County most of their married life. A few years were spent in Washington. Mr. Nichols preceded her in death. She had lived in Chester since 1959.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs. Azalya Heuer, Port Orchard, Wash.; Mrs. Gilbert Hanson, Sioux Falls; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ross Williams; two half-sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Lommen, Wentworth; Mrs. Katherine Benedict, Clinton, Wis., and three half-brothers, Ray Gruber, Wessington Springs; Herman Gruber, Omaha, and August Gruber, Iowa.
