George is the son of Marlboro Molbry Ripley and Zerildah Barger, he was born in Illinois. On Sept. 7, 1862 he married Julia Aiken and they had three children, Mary, Nellie Molley and Clara Maude.
George may have died between 1900 and 1905. He is listed with Julia in the 1900 census in Dell Rapids, then in 1910 Julia is listed as a widow, but he is not listed in the South Dakota Death Index begining in 1905.
Note: Every year Dell Rapids has a Memorial Day Program starting with a parade, ending at the cemetery. In this area Flander's Field is read, a prayer is said and the band plays patriotic music.
