Both Walter and Ann Aasheim were born and raised in Lincoln County, SD. Walter was born in 1929 the son of Ole and Gunhild Aasheim. Ann, born in 1937, is the daughter of Clarence and Mable Ronan. She lived in Canton until the age of five when she lost her Mother. Then she moved to the farm to make her home with her Aunt and Uncle, Grace and Elmer Johnson. Both Walter and Ann graduated from Canton High School. In 1951 Walter worked for Buckingham Transportation Company in Rapid City until the Army called him in 1952. He served in Korea for 16 months. Walter and Ann married in 1955 and have six children: June, Barb, Jim, Vicki, Cindy and Alan.
