Was Born In Scotland; Was In Dell Raids High School Second Graduating Class

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, July 13 for Mrs. Christian Johnson, who passed away Monday morning. The services were at the Dell Rapids Lutheran Church with Student Pastor John Bjorge officiating. Mrs. Clarence Dybvig sang. Interment was in the Dell Rapids Cemetery. The Hermanson Funeral Home as in charge.

Janet Grant MacDonald was born in Dalbeattie, Scotland Oct. 12, 1878. She came to America with her father, John Grant MacDonald, her mother, Margaret Brodie MacDonald, and five brothers and sisters when she was six years old.

She was graduated from the Dell Rapids High School in the second graduating class. In 1897 she was united in marriage to Christian Samuel Johnson. To this union four children were born.

She is survived by three brothers; Peter, Longmont, Colorado; Thomas and Douglas, San Francisco, Calif.; and three sisters: Mrs. James Percy, Vallejo, Calif.; Mrs. Edward Kiehl, Prescott, Arizona; and Mrs. Will Leuning, Santa Rosa, Calif. Also three children; Margit, Mary and MacDonald and two granddaughters, Margit and Linda.
