The family came to America on the ship Pretoria from Itzehoe, Germany. Carl and Katherine had 9 children. Anna July 22, 1885 married Henry Hobbie and died 1961, Cacile 1887, Bertha 1890, William (4 mo), Augusta (1 1/2 mo), Henry 1895, Wilhelmine 1897 married Henry Ludemann died in 1970, Mark (4 weeks died about ship?) and George Albert born in America in 1904.
