Flandreau, S.D. Dobbs, James, 77. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at the St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church. Died Monday at a Flandreau hospital. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Skroch Chapel.
Born June 5, 1881 at Senaca, Ill. Came to Rock Rapids, la., as a boy and to Moody County in 1902. Attended State College and taught school in Moody County several years. Married Nellie O'Leary Nov. 30, 1911 at Flandreau. Worked in the Trent bank two years and then farmed until 1934. Served as Moody County treasurer from 1934 to 1938 and worked for the REA until 1944 when he moved back to the farm.
Survivors include the widow; three sons, Francis, St. Augustine, Fla.; John, Miami, Fla., and Donald, San Marino, Calif.; three daughters, Mary Katherine Dobbs, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Lawrence Buck, Egan, and Mrs. Leslie Kraude, Downie, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
