Mrs. Oscar Berg Laid to Rest Wednesday
The sad news of the passing of Mrs. Oscar Berg was received here last Sunday. Mrs. Berg had been ill for the past few weeks but her death came as a blow to those who knew her.
Ethel Viola Shadduck (Berg) was born to Mr. and Mrs. M.D. Shadduck on February 15, 1898 at Clinton County, Iowa. In 1900 she accompanied her parents to Moody County, South Dakota, where they have since made their home.
She was united in marriage to Oscar Berg in 1917 and to this union six children were born. She leaves to mourn her untimely passing, her husband and the children, Howard, Ruby, Eugene, Clifford, Donald and Betty; her mother and father; three sisters, Alta of Colman, Orpha of Brisbane, N.D., and Clarissa of Sioux Falls, S.D.; besides other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the home north of town and from the Wellman Church with interment in the colman Cemetery.
There is no death! The stars go
down.
To rise upon some fairer shore,
And bright in heaven’s jeweled
crown
They shine foe ever more.
