Bryan Eugene Heiden was born on March 20, 1962 in Sioux Falls, SD to Eugene and Charlotte (Cartee) Heiden. He enlisted in the United States Navy on August 5, 1982 as a Chef. He deployed to Hawaii, Philippines, Thailand, Japan and San Francisco, CA. Both in and out of the military, Bryan was an excellent chef. Although he never served on a ship, Bryan was proud to cook for top military officials and thus traveled to many places during his military service because of that. Bryan was honorably discharged in August 1987.

Bryan worked at John Morrell & Company, later known as Smithfield Foods for 31 years. He liked to watch Green Bay Packers football and known for his ‘World Famous” lasagna. He enjoyed his many Chevy Chevelle’s, 80’s music, and pizza.

Grateful for sharing his life are his life partner, Nigisti Gebremedhim of Sioux Falls, SD; her children, David Gidey of Sioux Falls, SD and Sava (Josh Wager) Gidey of St. Paul Park, MN; his parents, Eugene and Charlotte Heiden of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Brad Heiden of San Antonio, TX; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
