Lawrence P. Thill, son of Margaret Beck Thill and Nick Thill, was born April 17, 1902 on a farm near LeMars, IA. As a small boy, he moved his parents to a farm near Dell Rapids, SD. After his marriage to Eva Sitzmann in LeMars on Jan 19, 1927, the farmed in the Dell Rapids are until retiring to Sioux Falls in 1964. He was then employed at DU-AL Manufacturing until retiring again in 1975. He continued to be active with hardening and fishing.

He was a member of Jt. Joseph Cathedral.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Eva; 7 sons, Bill of Ft. Collins, CO, Gene, Dwaine and Darrell, all of Sioux Falls, Cletus and Tom of Lakewood, CO and Terry of Windsor, CO; 3 daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Geraldine) Scholl, Denver, CO, Mrs. Dick (Elaine) Klundt, Lakewood, CO and Marion Thill, Sioux Falls; 28 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Francis “Butch” Thill, Brookings, SD and Norman “Bud” Thill, Dell Rapids, SD; 2 sisters, Mrs. George (Margaret) Mergen, Dell Rapids, SD and Deloris “Fritz” Gorman, Yankton, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Susan Entringer, Lillian Westwick and Leona Huewe.

Friends and relatives are invited to coffee at the funeral home on Friday night following the Scripture Service and for lunch with the family at the St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel Hall following the Burial Service.
