Henry "Hank" R. Arends

Henry “Hank” Arends, 87 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, with family by his side.
Henry Arends, son of George and Christina (Johnson) Arends, was born on May 6, 1930, in Little Rock, IA.
Hank was united in marriage with Lillian McMaster on March 17, 1957, and they made their home in Sioux Falls, SD. Hank was a career truck driver.
Hank was a member of IH Chapter 21 of South Dakota, Granite Threshing, and the Sioux Falls American Legion. He was a past member to Cuddy’s in Okoboji and a current member of Hart Ranch in Rapid City.
Hank enjoyed playing guitar, campfires with family & friends, restoring tractors and going south to Arizona.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 61 years Lillian, Sioux Falls, SD; children George (Mary Ann) Arends, Sioux Falls, SD, Sandy Gunderson, Sioux Falls, SD, Jim (Sheila) Arends, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, John Arends (Katie Vogel), Jessica Arends, Erica Arends, Andrea Bernhard, Mandi (Victor) Benitez, Greg Gunderson; five great-grandchildren; sister Matilda Fisher, Sheldon, IA; brother Tony (Irma) Arends, FL; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Jeanette McKenzie, Alice Olson, and Louise Arends.
The family of Henry Arends thanks you for your support and presence today. An invitation is extended to join them at Miller Southside Chapel for refreshments and fellowship following the funeral service.
Visitation with the family present will be from 11 am to 1 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1 pm all on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 South Minnesota Avenue, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
