Sioux Falls ~ Lori Sorenson-Bade, age 55 died on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Sanford USD Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2012 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, with burial at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls, SD. A memorial visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Lori Lucille Sorenson was born on October 25, 1956 in Valley Springs, SD to Quintin and Lucille (Hartmann) Sorenson. She was baptized at Beaver Valley Lutheran Church, and then confirmed at Canton Lutheran Church. Lori received her elementary education in Alberta, MN and her family moved to rural Canton, SD in 1968. Lori graduated from Canton High School in 1974. Following high school she began working at Litton Industries for fourteen years and attending National College of Business in Sioux Falls, graduating in 1991. Lori then spent the next five years in Tucson, Arizona working for Budget Rental Car, it was there where she met the love of her life, Greg Bade in 1995. She moved back to Sioux Falls in 1996 and the couple were married in 2002, and made their home in Sioux Falls. In 1996 she began working at Golden Sun Feeds (now Purina) until retiring due to ill health in 2009. She had a passion for the outdoors and the beauty of nature. She especially loved spending time in her flower garden, sailing at Lewis and Clark Lake, and caring for small animals, such as the squirrels and rabbits in her yard, and the love of her dogs and cats.

Above all Lori's greatest pride and joy was for her family, she loved and cherished the time spent with her husband, parents and her siblings. She was a loving daughter, wife, step-mother, step-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Greg Bade of Sioux Falls; two step-children, Emily Jean (Mike) Sieler, Sioux Falls and Ryan Joseph Bade, Sioux Falls; parents, Quintin and Lucille Sorenson; seven siblings, Barbara (Dale) Flannery, Brandon, SD, Raymond (Joan) Sorenson, Marshall, MN, Carol Sorenson, Canton, SD, Clayton (Vonda) Sorenson, Billings, MT, Gordon Sorenson, Sioux Falls, Shari (fiancé, Jerry Sundberg) Sorenson, Sioux Falls, and Gerald (Janet) Sorenson, Canton, SD; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lori's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michael Keppen, Oncology staff, and Sanford Hospice and Hospital staff for their care and support.
