Alice E. Weigel, 90, Flandreau, S.D., died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at Riverview Manor, Flandreau.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 21 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Flandreau with Rev. Dr. Mary A. Sacco officiating.
Interment was in Union Cemetery, Flandreau.
Alice was born March 23, 1914 on a farm in Moody County, S.D., to August and Lizzie (Hai) Hammer. She received her education at the Hess Country School and lived in the Flandreau area all her life. She married C. Norman Weigel on Sept. 21, 1938. They farmed until 1960 when they moved into Flandreau. Her husband preceded her in death on April 4, 1970.
She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid and also different committees. She worked for the church for 30 years.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, four brothers and two sisters.
