Esther was born on August 19, 1908 on a farm in Brookings County to Samuel and Fannie Maxwell Carman. She received her education in a rural Brookings County school in the Elkton area. On August 1, 1929 she married Wallace F. Dibben at Madison, SD and came to Flandreau where her husband was in the dairy business. Esther was a homemaker and in later years worked for the B. T. Otey family. In the spring of 1986 she moved to Maplewood, MN She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by 1 son: Darrell and his wife Marge, Blair, NE; 2 daughters: Rosemary, Mrs. Emmett Aus, Cottage Grove, MN and Adele, Mrs. Rod Olssen, Oakdale, MN. 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; 3 sisters: Ethel Varns, Dell Rapids; Irene Kjenslee, White, SD and Mary Justus, Chandler, AZ. She is preceded in death by her husband Wally (April 1, 1962), parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
