Charles Bruce Chamberlin

Charles B. Chamberlin, 56, died after a long illness Friday, May 12, 2000, at Sioux Valley Hospital.
He was born September 15, 1943, in Flandreau. He grew up in the area and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1961. He attended Augustana College, and received his bachelor's degree in English and foreign language in 1965. He attended the University of Munich in Germany, where he studied music, and received his master's degree in English at South Dakota State University in 1982. He worked as a teacher in Flandreau and Sioux Falls.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where he served as organist for several years.
Survivors include his parents, C. Bruce and Dorothea Chamberlin of Sioux Falls; two sisters: Susan Chamberlin Scofield and Kay Chamberlin, both of Omaha; and two nephews.
Services begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial in Union Cemetery in Flandreau.
There will be no visitation. The Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to Our Lady of Guadalupe or the Sioux Valley Hospital Foundation.
