June was born July 28, 1928, southeast of Lone Tree, SD, to William and Emma (Juhls) Luschen. She graduated from Flandreau High School in 1946 and married Gearld Waxdahl on March 4, 1948, at Pipestone, MN. She was employed by ASCS in Flandreau for 4 years and they farmed east of Flandreau. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and WELCA and became a resident at Riverview Manor in August of 2000.
June is survived by her husband, Gearld; a son, Craig (Carolyn); all of Flandreau; 2 grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew Waxdahl; 2 granddaughters, Abby (Brad) Wiskur and Jamy Waxdahl; a great-grandson, Dylan; a sister Beverly (Russell) Bradfield, Sioux Falls; and a sister-in-law, Winnie Luschen, Flandreau. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Mildred and Elvina, and a brother, Henry
