Josie Headrick was born Dec. 23 1895 on a farm in Riverview Township, Moody County to Rhor and Betsy Johnson Gulbranson. She was educated in rural school and then worked for families in the area until her marriage to George Harold Headrick on Dec. 23, 1915 at Flandreau. She and her husband farmed in Clare Township until the spring of 1948 when they moved into Flandreau. She was a resident at Riverview Manor for the past 12 years. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Busy Bee Club.
She is survived by one son Derwin of Flandreau; one daughter, Norma, Mrs. B. G Lohnes, Garden City, N.Y.; one nephew, raised by the Headrick family, Lyle Johnson, Anaheim, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is the last of the 13 children having been preceded in death by 7 brothers and 5 sisters as well as by her parents, husband, two sons, DuWayne and Gerald, one infant son and one daughter, Virginia.
