Funeral services conducted by Russell A. Peterson were held Saturday in the Lutheran Church of this city (Flandreau, S.D.) for Mrs. Conrad Koester age 67 years, ten months and one day who passed away at the Flandreau hospital on June 7, 1949 after being confined there for five weeks. She had been in failing health for many years.

Pall bearers were George Pepper, Rudolph Bothern, Ben Reumann, Gerhardt Luttman, Louie Schmidt and Henry Sorenson.
Interment was made in the Flandreau Union cemetery under direction of the Overdahl Funeral Services.

Minnie Wilhelmina Hagedorn was born in Gornitz, Schleswig Holstein Germany on September 6, 1881 and was baptized there on October 1, 1881. She was confirmed into the Lutheran Church on December 24, 1939 and remained an active member as long as her health permitted.

She came to this country with her parents Christian and Augusta Hagedorn when she was 7 years old in the year of 1888. They settled in Aspinwall, Iowa.

In 1900 she was united in marriage to Conrad Koester who preceded her in death by three months. In 1902 this young family came to Moody County S.D to locate on a farm near Flandreau and made their home here ever since.

This devoted mother leaves to mourn her passing five children: Mrs. Heiko, (Anna) Pantekock, of Pipestone, Minnesota; Johnny of Oakland, California; Mrs. Joe (Frieda) Sedlachek; Walter of Flandreau and a foster son Walter Boock of San Jose, California, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one brother Carl of Manning, Iowa, besides a host of relatives and friends. Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Relatives and friends from out of town who came to attend the last rites included, Mr. & Mrs Walter Boock and daughter who came from San Jose, California; Mr. And Mrs. Charles Hagedorn, Mrs.Leo Schoenfelder , Mrs. and Mrs Oswald Schurz of Mitchell, SD; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Garmire, Gus Koester, and son Henry, Mrs. Ida Wunder, Mrs. Herman Lamp and Mrs. Julius Koester of Manning, Iowa; Mr. And Mrs. Jess Rasmunssen of Vail, Iowa, John Koester of Huron, S.D; and Mr. And Mrs Allison of Huntington Beach. California, Mr. and Mrs Peter Carstens of Manilla, Iowa; Mrs. Hannah Swenson of Cooper, S.D. and Herman Boock of Pipestone, Minnesota.
