Funeral services were held for Lillian Esther Dierks, 65, Tuesday, Oct 3, 1972 at 2 pm in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev Fredrick Kuegele officiating.
She was born in flandreau and received her education in the Flandreau Public Schools. On September 14, 1926, she married Martin Dierks. They farmed northwest of Flandreau until the spring of 1970 when they moved east of Flandreau two miles where she had resided since.
She is survived by her husband; five children: Mrs. Virgil Spangler, Flandreau; Mrs. Kenneth Stimson, Sioux Falls, SD; Ralph, Hardin, MT; Richard, Ames, IA; and David, Aberdeen, SD; one sister, Mrs. Ernest Dierks of Washburn, ND; her mother, Mrs. Mary Benedict and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and one son Martin in 1949.
Pallbearers were James O Johnson, G F Schmid, Ben Luttmann, Gerald Allis, Arthur Beyer, and Dale DeNure. Interment was at the Flandreau Cemetery.
