Edward S. Anderson was born on a farm near Cottonwood,MN, on Aug. 23, 1910, the son of Ole and Sena (Swenson) Anderson. He attended rural school and grew up there. On Mar. 3, 1934, he was married to Mabel Peterson at Marshall, MN. Six children were born to this union. Following their marriage they live in Cottonwood, until 1951, when they moved to Russell, MN. They moved to Milbank, SD in 1953, and in 1956 they moved to Lennox. Mr. Anderson, in his earlier years , was a carpenter. He then was employed at grain elevators, most recently as plant superintendent with Cargill, Inc. of Lennox until his retirement in 1975. His wife, Mabel, preceded him in death on Nov. 27 , 1977. He married Alice Severson on Mar. 10, 1979, in Lennox, where they lived their entire married life. Following his retirement, he also did carpentry work with his son, Don, at D.W. Anderson Construction in Lennox. Besides his parents and wife, Mabel, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Anderson, on May 5, 1968; two brothers: Swen and Andrew Anderson; three sisters: Marie Garry, Helen Varpness, and Frances Oftedehl. Grateful for having shared his life are his widow, Alice; five children and their spouses: Marlene and Dan Danielson of Pensacola, FL, Dean and Gretchen Anderson of Campbell, CA, Don W. and Elaine Anderson of Lennox, Lee and Avis Anderson of Blacksburg, VA, Carole and Virgil Musch of Lennox; three stepchildren and their spouses: Ralph and Nona Severson of Minneapolis, MN, Curtis and Winnie Severson and Sally and Curtis Christianson, all of Clarkfield, MN; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Christine Idso of Cottonwood, MN, and Margaret Mygard
