Edna Dorothy McCracken
(July 14, 1913 - July 18, 2012)

Edna Dorothy McCracken, age 99, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Riverview Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flandreau.Edna was born July 14, 1913 to Henry and Louise (Plueger) Pecks at LeMars, IA. At the age of 2 she moved with her parents to Winfred, SD where she completed her education. On February 6, 1934 Edna married Chester "Dale" McCracken and they lived on a farm by Winfred until 1937. They moved to Howard, SD where they lived until 1942 when they moved to Flandreau. Edna was a homemaker and had an in-home daycare for several years. Dale preceded her in death on January 10, 1973. Following his death she moved to Egan to an apartment until becoming a resident at Riverview in 2005. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau.

Edna is survived by a son, David (Joy) McCracken, Rapid City; 1 granddaughter, Char (Stacey) Micheel; 4 great-grandchildren, Dillon, Trista, Dakota Jo, TeCee and several nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother and 5 sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Flandreau United Methodist Church, Flandreau with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Friday at the church.
