Clayton W. Rudd, son of Ole and Mattie Rudd, was born at Garretson, SD on July 24, 1897. He received his schooling at Garretson and on August 20, 1918 he was united in marriage to Bertha R. Rothenbuehler at Garretson. They lived at Garretson until February 5, 1926 when they moved to a farm near Egan, SD. They farmed there for 15 years then moving to a farm southeast of Flandreau where they have since resided. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and served on the Flandreau Township Board for several years.

Survivors
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Charles A. (Audrey) Johnson, Flandreau, SD, Veryl Rudd at home; 1 brother, Clifford, Dell Rapids, SD; 1 granddaughter, Jarolyn Johnson; 2 grandsons, Rudd and Jeff Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
