Gordon L. Dailey
(February 14, 1926 - February 14, 2010)

Gordon L. Dailey, 84, died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls. Gordon was born February 14, 1926 at Flandreau, SD to George and Lena (Evenson) Dailey. He graduated from Flandreau High School in 1944 and attended SDSU in Brookings for one year. He served in the United States Navy and after his discharge returned to Flandreau and was a farm laborer. Gordon married LaVonne Johnson on July 25, 1952 in Flandreau, SD. They bought a farm southeast of Flandreau in 1959. LaVonne preceded him in death on August 25, 1975. Gordon married JoAnn Blum on November 12, 1983 in Flandreau. He retired from farming in 1990 and they have continued to live on the farm. Gordon was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, mowing and was an inventor.

Gordon is survived by his wife, JoAnn, four children, Gail (Jim) Pfeifle, Cokato, MN, Graydon (Karen) Dailey, Belle Fourche, SD, Teresa (Steve) Kortus, Minneapolis, MN, Erin (Joe) Konkol, Custer, SD; three stepsons, Kevin Blum, Brookings, Mike (fiancée, Becky) Blum, Flandreau, Marc (Kari) Blum, Flandreau; 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death his first wife, LaVonne, a daughter, Jane, two brothers, Vernon and Lloyd and four sisters, Agnes, Ardis, Irene and Doris.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with burial in Union Cemetery, Flandreau. Visitation begins at 2:00 pm Wednesday with a 7:30 pm prayer service at Skroch Funeral Chapel.
