David ALBERT Walsten was born in Nederkalix, Rison, Sweden Sept. 11 1872. He came to the U.S. with his parents in 1888. He was confirmed as a Lutheran, and followed the trade of a carpenter. He operated a harness and shoe repair shop at Hawarden, and then left that business to take up farming southwest of Hawarden. In 1941 he and his family went to Hudson to make their home, where he again operated a shoe shop until a few days before his death. He is survived by his wife, Clara Mae nee Eastling Walsten and children, and a sister.
