Newton K. Lathrop, 76, Sioux Falls, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1986 in Sioux Valley Hospital.
Mr. Lathrop was born March 10, 1910 in Dell Rapids, where he grew up and attended school. He married Grace Anderson June 30, 1938 in Sioux Falls. Mr. Lathrop was employed with Zip Feed Mills for 34 years and retired in 1975.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Allen, Minneapolis, Minn.; two grandchildren; and two sisters: Mrs. Joe (Mildred) Gunderson, Mason City, Iowa; and Mrs. Bernard (Helen) Stomps, Seattle, Wash.
Private family services were held Monday, Sept. 1 in Kahler Funeral Home in Dell Rapids. Burial was in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.

Grace A. Lathrop
Grace A. Lathrop, 76, of 206 South Willow, Sioux Falls, died on Sunday, March 22, 1992 at McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls.
Grace Anderson was born on May 25, 1915, at Dell Rapids, the daughter of Dr. Palmer T. and Florence Anderson. She attended public schools in Dell Rapids and graduated in 1933. She took nurses training in Chicago in 1933 – 1934 before returning to Dell Rapids.
She was married to Newton K. Lathrop of Dell Rapids on June 30, 1938 in Sioux Falls. The couple lived in Riverside, Calif., for a year and returned to Dell Rapids in 1939. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1941 where Mr. Lathrop was employed at Batchelor's Feed and Seed (Later Zip Feed Mills). He retired in 1975 after 34 years at Zip Feeds. He preceded her in death Aug. 29, 1986.
She was a lifelong homemaker.
Survivors included one son, Alan and his wife Peggy of Minneapolis, Minn., one grandson, Paul and one Granddaughter, Julia also of Minneapolis; one sister, Dorothy Brakke of Milbank, and one brother, Dr. Allan J. Anderson of Webster.
Funeral Services were held at the Kahler Funeral Home, Dell Rapids, on Tuesday, March 24, 1992, at 1 p.m. with the Very Reverend Robert North officiating. The interment was at the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
