Diane Ruth Eidsness, age 77, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Avera Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls.
Diane was born December 12, 1932 at Cloquet, MN to Lloyd and Ruth (Hagaman) Schultz. She grew up and attended school in Rochester, MN, graduating in 1950. She lived in Sioux Falls and for the last 31 years on an acreage near Canton. Diane married Harry Eidsness on July 15, 1978. She worked as a receptionist at Central Plains Clinic and retired in 1997. She was a member of Canton Redeemer Free Lutheran Church and WMF. Diane was a volunteer at Love, Inc. and sewed blankets for the Linus Project. She enjoyed painting and was a member of Book Buddies. She devoted her life to caring for her family and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Diane is survived by her husband, Harry; four sons- Jay (Joyce) Travis, Brandon, SD, Jerry (Bab) Travis, Brandon, SD, Tony Travis, Renner, SD and David (Tammy) Travis, Sioux Falls, SD; two daughters- Sandy (Mike) Whitcher, Rapid City, SD and Holly (Scott) Henderson, Vermillion, SD; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grand-children; a brother, Butch Schultz, Kellogg, MN; and two sisters- Darlene Gillespie (Sky Holdva), Wabasha, MN and Julie (Bill) Scott, Warrens, WI.
