Lori Ripley, age 49, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, January 21, 2011.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 25 at Canton Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Lori Ann Reilly Ripley was born June 14, 1961 to E.T. (Sam) & Sallee Reilly in Canton, SD.
As a young girl she dreamed of being a princess and only child. She attended CCJ grade school and graduated from Canton High School in 1979. Through the years, Lori has worked for the Canton Good Samaritan Center and the Brookings Hospital as a CNA, Fastek, and most recently with CHS Food Service.
Lori married the love of her life, Jim Ripley, on November 16, 1992.
Lori was loving, hardworking, generous, had an outgoing personality, and was a great friend to many. She was an avid fan and attendee of all the local sports teams. Lori's monster cookies were a must have at her children's sports gatherings. Family events and parties were always started with her cheeseball and crackers. In her spare time, Lori treasured nights around the back yard fire pit, fishing, and Sunday afternoons at home. She was very proud of her children and life.
Grateful for having shared her life are: her husband, Jim; sons, Josh & Eli, Canton, SD; daughter, Chandi (Jancey) Alamos, Valdosta, GA; mother, Sallee, Canton, SD; siblings, Kevin (Sharon) Reilly, Kent (Terri) Reilly, Karla Reilly, Janette (Mark) Seney, all of Sioux Falls, SD, and Linda (Chris) Lipp, LeMars, IA; mother and father in-law, Rob & Mavis Ripley, Pipestone, MN; brothers-in-law, Joe (Vaughn) Ripley, Toronto, SD, and Scott (Mary) Ripley, River Falls, WI; sister-in-law, Pam DeKraai, Willmar, MN; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and sister-in-law, Kim Thompson. Lori and her "Daddy" are watching over us all.
