Ida Reynolds was born in Davis, South Dakota on Jan. 29, 1909, the daughter of William and Flora (Arends) Reynolds. She attended grade school in Lennox and Davis High School and then Worthing High School. Ida was united in marriage to Shirley H. Stengel on Apr. 25, 1930 in Worthing. They farmed near Worthing where he passed away on Apr. 3, 1965. She moved to Canton in June of 1965. On Sept. 5, 1970 she was united in marriage to Clarence Johnson in Luverne, MN and they lived in Canton. He died on Jan. 26, 1978 and she continued to make her home in Canton. Ida was an active member of First Baptist Church in Canton. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, five sisters and one brother. Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters and their husbands: Joan and Vernon Boyd and Donna and Douglas Hanson, all of Sioux Falls; three grandchildren: Verna Boyd of Garretson, Wade (Corrie) Hanson and Reid Hanson, all of Sioux Falls; two great-grandsons: Wyatt and Cody Hanson and one sister, Violet Ness of Lennox.
