Grace Agnes Greer was born on a farm near Worthing, SD. on Sep. 21, 1913, the daughter of Robert and Elvina (Newman) Urben. She grew to womanhood there and graduated from Worthing High School. On Apr. 26, 1934 she was united in marriage to Austin Greer at Beresford, SD. Following their marriage they farmed northeast of Beresford. In 1940 they moved to their farm southeast of Lennox, where they had since made their home. Her death ended a marriage partnership of over 52 years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sone, Robert Vernon in 1938; five brothers and three sisters. Following recent hospitalization Grace died in a Sioux Falls hospital on Aug. 18, 1986, having attained the age of 72 years, ten months and 27 days. Surviving are her widower, Austin; five children: Dean Greer of Brandon, Mrs. Donald (Faye) Ostlund of Sioux Falls, Mrs. John (Diane) Bjordal of Centerville, Mrs. Harold (Carol) Geist of Valley Springs and Douglas Greer of Hill City, SD.; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers: William Urben and Ernest Urben, both of Worthing and one sister, Mrs. Harry (Blanche) Charlton of Worthing.
