John Charles Dickens , 76, of Duluth, a former resident of King Manor, Duluth, died Friday, June 7, 2002 in Viewcrest Health Center. He was born November 12, 1925 in Lincoln County, South Dakota to George and Myrtle (Richardson) Dickens. He attended Buboltz School in Lincoln County, SD. At age 42, John took correspondence courses through Art Instruction Schools in Mpls, MN and also attended panting classes at the Mpls Institute of Arts. He enjoyed oil painting and pencil sketching. He worked as a baker's helper for the Manchester Biscuit Co. in Sioux Falls, SD for 17 years. He then worked for Richfield Car Wash in Mpls, MN for 16 years. He worked for Jenos in Duluth for 5 years. He was preceded in death by his parents in 1972 2 brothers, Donald in 1999 and Marvin in 1994. He is survived by his sisters, Lois (Walt) Appel of Sioux Falls, SD, Betty (Fred) Schomer of Chicago, IL, Geraldine (Bobbie) Anderson of Independence, MO, Clara Mae (Edward) Halls of Hermantown, Dorothy Horn of Hermantown and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
