Everett and Evelyn Eneboe live ten miles southwest of Canton on the farm they purchased in 1957. This farm was the Sivert Alness homestead, proved up in 1881. Everett is the oldest child of Rudolph and Ella Birkland Eneboe and was born in 1919 in the farm home two miles north of the Romsdal Church, where his grandparents from Norway had moved in 1884 and tree claimed a quarter section of land. Everett attended Highland School also known as the Eneboe School, and graduated from Canton High School. Besides farming, he was engaged in the trucking business for 43 years. In 1950, he married Evelyn Peterson in Alcester. Everett is a past director of the Federal Land Bank, Beresford, and is currently serving as a director of the Farmer's State Bank in Canton. Evelyn taught in rural schools in Clay and Union Counties and in the Alcester Public School. She is a member of the Beresford Pleasant Study Club and has been active in the General Federation of Women's Clubs for 31 years, serving District Four in all the office capacities from Secretary to President as well as the South Dakota Federation of Women's Clubs, culminating in the State Presidency in 1972 to 1974. She is currently serv¬ing as Treasurer of the State Federation and President of the Mississippi Valley Conference, a seven state regional divi¬sion of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. Everett and Evelyn have two children, a daughter, Tacey Jane, born in 1954, and a son, Eric Arthur, born in 1961 (Source: The History of Lincoln Co, SD 1985 page 366)
