Irene Koob, 52, Canton, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1993, in her home from a long illness. Irene Korves was born July 23, 1940, in Yankton. She graduated from Pipestone High School in 1958 and attended the University of Minnesota. She married Douglas Koob on June 4, 1960, in Sacramento, Calif. They lived in Abilene, Texas; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Irvington, J.H.; Kansas City, Kan.; Platte City, Mo.; Minneapolis and Dell Rapids. They had lived in Canton for the past six years when she owned the Kennedy Rose Inn. Mrs. Koob was a member of the St. Dominic Catholic Church in Canton and Catholic Daughters. Survivors include her husband; two sons; Joseph, at home; and Thomas Hage, Trimont, Minn.; three daughters: Sarah, at home, Teresa, Canton; and Maria, Sioux Falls; 10 grandchildren; her parents: A.V. and Alvina Korves, Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers; Robert Korves and Tom Korves, both of Sacramento; and two sisters: her twin, Mrs. Tom (Ilene) Seveland, Salinas, Calif.; and Nancy Hill, Sacramento.
