Hazel M. Ulrikson, age 85, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Avera Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls.Hazel was born November 25, 1924 on a farm in Lincoln County, SD to Arter and Florence (Payne) Fait. She attended country school, Beresford schools, and Canton High School, graduating in 1942. Hazel lived in Waukesha, WI for a year before moving back to Canton in 1944. Hazel was united in marriage to Donald Ulrikson March 7, 1945 in Canton. They made their home on a farm south of Canton until moving to Canton in 1994. Hazel was an active member of Lands Lutheran Church since 1945. In her youth she was active in Girl Scouts and was a member of Lincoln County Extension. Hazel enjoyed singing and playing her guitar in many different evens. She also kept busy hobbies including: needlework, sewing, embroidery, crafts, oil painting, and ceramics. Hazel worked at Otis Radio for six years retiring in 1973. Grateful for having shared her life are: her husband, Don; daughter, Judy (Al) Perry, of Sioux Falls; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jerald Dean, two brothers, Warren and Millard Fait, and sister Genevieve Bruton.
