Margaret Ruth Craig, the daughter of Van T. and Ruth R. (Freeze) Craig was born April 11, 1919 in Ekalaka, MT. Her family moved to a farm in the Tea, SD area in 1926, where Margaret received her education. Margaret ran the Tea Coffee Shop for eight years before meeting her future husband. On November 10, 1948, Margaret was united in marriage with Bernard V. Hoffman in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple moved to a farm west of Harrisburg where they lived their entire life, and continue to reside. Margaret was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was also very active in the American Legion Auxiliary, the Home Extension Club, and was a 4-H Leader for many years. Margaret taught herself how to sew and make quilts. She enjoyed dancing and fishing with Bernard. Margaret also enjoyed playing many a card game with her friends and family. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Bernard of Harrisburg; daughter, Shirley (Delmer) Wetering of Tea; three grandchildren, Susan Wiebesiek, Bret (Nancy) Wetering, Bernard (Julie) Wetering; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Vanette Satlak of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Ruth Craig of Tea; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Candace Adler and Phyllis Keating; and two brothers, Charles and Roger Craig.
