Mrs. G. J. Geraets
Passed to Reward
Mrs. Wilhelmina Geraets, widow of the late G.J. Geraets, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 24, at the McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls, following an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Geraets, before her marriage was Miss Wilhelmina Slinger. She was born October 6, 1869, in Holland (Netherlands), being 74 years, 1 month and 18 days at the time of death.
She came to this country when 23 years of age and settled at LeMars, Iowa. She was married April 11th, 1899, at Alton, Iowa, where the family made their home until they moved to the farm northwest of Dell Rapids in 1920.
She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away June 5, 1938, and the oldest son, Henry, died in December 1918. She is survived by six children: Martha, Johanna, Theodore, Ida (Mrs. Matt Wolles) and Lewis, all of the Dell Rapids vicinity and Gerard of the Sherman community.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at St. Mary's church, by the Rev. Father H.C. Medicus. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. The Hermanson Funeral home was in charge.
