Pallbearers are Clarence Foss, Everett Foss, Jim Kileen, Gene Marcher, Walter Crisp and Webster Drummond Jr.

Viola Carlson was born on July 25, 1911 in Dell Rapids, the only child of Gust and Anna B. Carlson. She spent her lifetime here and attended the Dell Rapids schools. During the war she did clerical work in the Airbase established in Sioux Falls.

For the past years she worked morning as secretary to Superintendent Henry Speh in the public school system. "Miss Carlson was a faithful servant to the school," said Superintendent Speh, "and could always be trusted to do what ever was asked of her."

She was know for her consideration and kindness to those who sought her help in the Library and encouraged good reading habits for many children.

She was preceded in death by her father who died when she was small, and by her mother who did in December, 1958.
